Plex...

If you know my child, you know that he has a serious friendship with his Yo Gabba friends.  Tonight I went to see my nephew and have a dinner with his cub scouts at this school.  When I left, Brayden told me "I very miss you Mommy"...meaning he would miss me while I was gone {aweeee}.

When I got home, he was upstairs, he came down asking Daddy who was here.  Daddy said he didn't know...so I hid around the corner and popped out thinking he would be all excited to see me {you know, because he was going to miss me so much while I was gone}....and Brayden just plainly looked at me and said "Oh, I thought Plex was here".

Oooohhhh...well okay then!!!  Guess the Mommy novelty thing is running thin these days.

Funnies...

Tonight Ron asked Brayden what he needed to put on his toothbrush in order to brush his teeth. Brayden quickly replied "piss" {aka: paste}  with so much enthusiasm it totally threw Daddy for a loop!  I then asked Bray to say "toothpaste", and he smiled and said very loudly "hy-pissssss" {toothpaste}. We tried really hard NOT to laugh. It did NOT work. ;-)

Bray was sitting on Daddy's lap earlier and tooted. Ron said "hey you-are you tooting on Daddy?" and Brayden looked at him with this very serious look and said, "it jusss happened"! Again...we tried not to laugh with no success.

Hand in hand...

As you know I have been fighting this horrible cold for days.  It really is not fun.  Brayden keeps coming up to me and asking for hugs.  I think he is secretly wondering why I have been keeping my lovey distance for the last few days.  I just don't want him to get this awful ick I have.  Lastnight as we both lay sound asleep...I was awaken to a little hand that slowly crept up my arm to my hand.  I then felt little fingers grasp and squeeze my fingers in attempt to hold my hand.  I opened my eyes thinking Brayden was awake, only to find he was sound asleep.  As sick and terrible as I felt...this warmed my heart, and brought a smile to this Momma's face, even at 3 in the morning ;-)  I love you bubby...thank you for knowing just what Mommy needs to smile.

{Snow}

It's snowing in the land of the Snow Family today.  Its ony October too!  Adding to that fun news is that I am fighting a horrible icky cold too.  It's kicking this Momma's butt just a little bit.  I am trying to get better soon so I can get caught up on the blog.  I have some fun articles swirling in my head along with this cold I have..so they will have to wait.

{Lessons learned}...

I have learned many lessons lately.
I am feeling inspired to share a few of them:
1.  Forgiveness is overrated.  If people treat you terribly...kick them to the curb...:-)
2.  Save money-seriously...it is so important to have a nest egg.  I've learned my lesson there.
3.  You never know your own strength until you are forced to find it.  I have, and I did.  I feel more empowered now.  That feels good. I am proud of myself, and my newfound strength.
4.  I don't need to keep negative people in my life anymore becuase I feel the need to help them.  You can't help crazy people that will never change.  As my mom once told me-arguing with people that are not "all there" is like trying to win an argument with someone in a straight jacket-I'll never win-I will just drive myself crazy in the process.  She was right, and I am finally taking that advice.
5.  People make bad decisions, but they are only bad if you learn nothing from them. {so true}.
6.  Creativity feeds my soul.
7.  Being a Mother is the greatest and single most important thing I have ever done, will do, and I am embracing all of the moments I can-because life is short and time moves so quickly.
8.  Music heals my soul.
9.  Education and constant learning renew me.  Therefore back to school I will go.
10.  Tell the ones you love that you love them every chance you get.  Nothing is more important. Nothing.
11.  I am surrounding myself with positive, happy, encouraging, and kind people.  Anyone not wanting to join in on my happy party...the curb is waiting ;-)

{I just love her}

Drew that is...Barrymore.  Yes I adore her-she is just such a happy soul.  I have adored her even since her Fire Starter days...yes-even as a child.  I read some of her fun little quotes the other day, and just HAD to post a few-because I LOVE them.

"You could be a bag of toxicity or you could be a happy, good person who spreads joy"

"There is joy that's earned by failure or triumph.  All those things add up to teach us, if we are open to it"

"To know someone, you need to look into their eyes"

"Laugh, laugh, laugh.  Life is like high school and it's small and everybody talks about everybody, so just laugh"

"Let your freak flag fly, and is someone doesn't get you, move on"

Well put Drew, I could not agree more.

Alakazam!!!

So, recently...my cousin Michelle went to see a psychic.  My Uncle Gary who has since passed had some really beautiful and sentimental things to say to her.  Her story is touching and special.  My mother and I were discussing this, and decided we needed to make a pact.  I suggested we come up with a mother-daughter password of sorts, so if something should ever happen to either one of us, and we go to a psychic-this password would let us know we were really there!  My Mom blurts out quickly... "what about Alakazam?"  I snorted with laughter!  "Alakazam Mom, really?"  We both giggled...to the point I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard.  I told her I feared I might forget that word and think it was something like Alakazoo!  She laughed at my ditziness-saying I would get up from the psychic and say..."no no-that was NOT our password".  She is so funny. I adore my mother.  I adore our conversations, our laughter, and the fact that I can literally discuss anything with her.
So, Alakazam it is Mom....Alakazam.

Mr. PB {oh how I love thee}...

I have been having a love affair for several years now with Mr. PB.  He makes my heart skip a beat, and has done so since 1997 when I first met him.  He knows my taste, and inspires the creative side of my soul.  He knows my favorite colors, and can provide me with a home that I love, dream of and adore.  He provides for my son and the bedroom he longs for {I long for} which are all things baseball.  I look forward to our monthly and sometimes weekly encounters.  I stay with him each time for over an hour, sometimes longer.  I got to see him this weekend, and oh my...we made a deal.  Okay...well he made an offer to me I simply could not refuse.
You see... Mr. Pottery Barn himself had kids chalkboards on sale for $2.97 a piece.  Navy & aqua blue.  I bought four of them.  I also could not resist the cute little red, blue and off white shams for Braydens big boy bedroom for $4 dollars.  Then...cork boards for the wall that were originally $39.00 each sold to me for a mere $1.97...so I left with three of those!  Last...a large baseball stadium puzzle that I plan to glue to mdf soon, then pop on some molding and hang lovingly in this big boy baseball room for my little guy.  I love you Mr. PB...and thankyou for a most awesome and unforgettable weekend.
'Til we meet again ;-)

A Bat Tat...

Aunt Tara gave Brayden his very own tattoo today.  A baseball bat and ball on his arm.  He calls it a "ta-oooo" and says, "I cool" as he checks it periodically to insure it's still there
He's feeling pretty awesome with his little bat tat.  I say...you go with your bad self baby!
Rock on!

Dear Speedo...

I think your company should strongly consider rethinking the design of your child's safety vest.

Thank you,
Mommy Snow ;-)

Going back to college...

So...Mommy Snow has FINALLY decided to take the plunge and go back to school...online. I am researching schools currently and have narrowed down my choices. One I am seriously looking into is Almeda University online. I am excited, and nervous at the same time, but know this is a great decision for my family, and for me.
I am going to continue with my Business/Marketing Major and eventually work toward my MBA. It is going to take a few years, but I am really excited about it. For 14 years I have worked in this field...but feel held back because I don't have the degree I need to really make the $$$ I deserve...so wish me luck folks.
My goal is to start this Fall 2009. I am really tickled about this. Change has never been something I embrace lovingly, but I am realizing through the last few months that change is what makes us strive for more within oureselves, and for oureselves.
Change is good.

Mr. Independent

This morning Brayden said, "mommy, mommy, mommy" {in this very angelic and high pitched voice}...then I heard a loud THUD! I sat straight up in bed and from the foot of the bed all I saw was this little proud face pop up from the floor with a HUGE smile and an expression that beamed {look what I just did} as he glanced back at the pack n play he had just climbed out of for the first time all by himself!!!
It's all over now folks...I'm doomed.

S N O W

Well friends, it is officially snowing in the Land O' Jamestown. Figures it comes on a night where corporate is in town at work, and I have a skirt and high heels on-of course! I would love to report warm sunny beautiful weather to everyone, but we all know winter is upon us. Brayden loves to watch the Noggin channel on tv where Moose-A Moose lovingly sings daily about "falling for Fall". I wish Fall were an all around the year season...it's totally my favorite. Although I miss Florida and all of its happy mood inducing sunshine seratonin feel great and happy chemicals that it brings...Snow does bring the feeling of warm hot cocoa and Christmas...perhaps Moose A Moose will come up with a "falling for Snow" song. It could happen...
