Mommy's night out...

Mommy went out last weekend, and oh.my.was.it.fun!  Some old girlfriends of mine called and asked me to meet them at the local Rod and Gun club Saturday night for some birthday fun-ness!  My dear friend Marcy {who I have known since 4th grade, yes 21 years!!!} and I share the same birthday-November 11th. We wanted to celebrate our birthday together! Stacy and I and Marcy all went to prom together way back in good ol' 1996.  Oh the years, the memories.  We have all grown up so much since then, married, had babies.  Unreal it seems.  We had a ton of fun talking about all of our old moments, laughter, funny times and triumphs.  We giggled like school girls, danced, took crazy pictures, danced some more, and just had a great time.

Time to celebrate....

Two of our very best friends in the whole world are finally {FINALLY} getting married!!!  We have been waiting for them to get engaged for what seems like forever.  Lastnight we went to their house for dinner, and they gave me permission to formally announce this finally as{we have already known now for while}.  I am so happy for them!  Ramona and Brian-congratulations!!!  We love both of you and can't wait for the wedding, planning, fun, all of it!  It is certainly time to celebrate.  Congratulations and hugs hugs hugs!  Woot woot!

Snow family 4th...

We had a really wonderful 4th of July back here in Florida! We celebrated with our good friends Joe, Ellen and Tori. We took them to Lake Toho to experience the fun festivities they have there each year. We sat and watched an awesome new band play and just relaxed, laughed, and watched the kiddos run wild, dance and play together. Brayden kept trying to love on Tori by giving her hugs, kisses and just trying to be right next to her...she was not very amused...but then again...she is an older woman {she's 3}. ha!

Both of them danced in the yard for a few hours entertaining the crowd, and us! It was really a relaxing and wonderful 4th. We stayed and watched the fireworks show, and Brayden sat in his stroller {finally}, eating crackers, feet crossed, just chillin out. What awesome memories we will all have from this day! Happy 4th everyone-hope yours was just as wonderful!

Congrats to Randee and Al & Malleable Iron Grille

I have to give a HUGE shout out to my very best friend in the world who is opening a new Restaurant in town! Malleable Iron Grille will open officially Monday April 6th!

Randee and Al have been working on remodeling the inside for weeks now gearing up for the Grand Opening! I am so proud of both of them! We will certainly be one of their first customers come Monday. I talked to Al today and told him I want Bacon, Sausage, Eggs-the works...

{so my order is already in} ;-)

B.I.N.G.O

Mom is coming home for another visit-Woot Woot! I feel a B.I.N.G.O date comin' on with her-our family-our friends. Maybe I'll actually win this time. I am getting good at this Big Time Bingo thing. You see-it's not the old pool hall type bingo where some 80+ year old lady is slowly calling the numbers-this is Seneca Nation Bingo...where there is only 1 second in between balls being called-and if you have multiple cards...you'd better be on your game sister! This is the type of Bingo where other women sitting at the tables eye you if you mention you only need "two numbers" or say something like "I'm getting close". Those are totally brave and taboo statements to make at this place ;-)

It's a multi-tasking event to say the least! {This part of the game really stresses me out}. One of the last times we went my Aunt JoAnn looked over at me mid-game and said; "Shannon-what the hell game are you on?" {This is ESPECIALLY funny because she is not one to freely use the word hell}. Everyone busted out laughing when they looked over and I was on a completely different color card. My cheeks went red instantly-and I frantically tried to play catch up as the Steel Magnolias {my Aunt Jo's group of lifelong friends that are practically family} tried to help me all the while laughing hysterically! Needless to say I did not win anything that night either! My mom even picked up a "lucky stone" in the parking lot on the way in that she later threw back on our way out {since she lost}!

Oh the joys of BINGO night. It's almost become a tradition when my mom comes home to visit. Last time my nieces got their first hand at this Big Time Bingo. During the "Cake Tier" game-"M" wanted to know if we won cake if we Bingo'd. The whole table giggled at that one-which irritated her just a tid bit. She is just like me in that this multi-tasking challenge can be more stress than fun. She eventually caught on-and fell in love like the rest of us.

B.I.N.G.O here we come!!!

Play Date: Chapter 1

Brayden had a play date this weekend! A good friend of mine Kelly came over with her daughter Genevieve to visit with my family and I, and Vieve and Brayden had hours and oodles of playtime fun together! Kelly and I have known each other since we were this little ourselves, so watching Vieve and Brayden playing was very sentimental to us. Bray and Vieve are only about 6 months apart in age-perfect to interact with each other.

Brayden at first was apprehensive to share, and was being overly boisterous when Vieve started to get some attention over him, but he adjusted well and by the end of the play date-you would have thought they were brother and sister! We took tons of pictures, both doting mommies we were sitting there giggling at their every move-but here are just a few that were ultra cute! We plan to have many more play dates in the near future as this was really a ton of fun.

I asked Tiffany Shaw, and very good, old friend of mine if she could help me figure out how to create a blog page similar to the one she had done on her own blog. Without hesitation, she wrote me an email offering to design it, and take on the project herself! How thoughtful! She has always been someone I have admired as she is a very selfless, giving, and genuine natured spirit. She is just an absolutely beautiful person. Shannon's 30th Surprise Birthday Party!

What a huge surprise! Ron and my family threw me a 30th Surprise Birthday Party yesterday at Friendly's! Beth called at around 11:30 a.m. and asked us out to lunch for my birthday. I hurried around getting Brayden and myself ready as we were trying to make it there by 12:30. When we got there, Beth met us up front and said they had seated them out in the side room, so we walked with her toward the back and everyone jumped up and said "Surprise" while singing Happy Birthday. All of my friends and family were there, it was such a wonderful surprise! I cried! I can't believe Ron pulled this off without me having a clue! The thought never entered my mind that he would do this for me. It was very special...and made my 30th Birthday one in which I will never forget. Here are some pictures...I am officially a 30 year old! Yay!

The most beautiful music a mother could love...

I have been listening to this CD since my good friend Carol got it for me for my birthday and sent it to me from Florida. She thought I would love the songs because they are perfect for a new mother. This CD was written by the artist while she was pregnant with her second child...and every song is a true depiction of exactly how I feel about my own child. I have been learning the soothing songs to sing them to Brayden. He loves when mommy sings to him, and these songs are relaxing and beautiful, and have words that he will remember me singing to him for the rest of his life. I just love it. My favorite song I sing to him right now is called "Me" and here are the lyrics...just beautiful:
