A year later...

First off, I cannot believe it has been over a year since my last blog. If you would have asked me years ago if I would wait a year to make a post I would have told you that was silly!  I am mad at myself that life has been so busy that I feel as though I am a year behind on documenting Braydens life thus far.  So...I will attempt to update you.

Since having my heart attack in October of 2011, our lives have seriously been re-adjusted in just about every fashion.  I am no longer a full time working Momma as an Assistant Executive Director anymore, and I must say that being home has been nice.  I have had so much time to decorate our new home (we moved in 2012), and to be involved with Brayden during his first year of school (Kindergarten).   We lost Chewbacca in January of 2012 after 16 years of him being our baby dog.  Shadow and Chewbacca were my and Rons first babies when we first moved into together in 1996.  It was horribly painful to lose them both, but Shadow died peacefully March 11, 2011 and Bacca Januray 2012.  The house felt so lonely and empty.  So....we waited a few weeks and met Peanut, a 6 month old German Shepherd mix puppy who is SO full of life.  We rescued him from the Humane Society and he is now the new pet member of our family.

In short, since 2011, I changed my life with my work, my home, my car, the dog, and having a child in school.  SO many changes that all required my full attention, therefore the blog has once again suffered.  Onto Brayden,

Oh my, he is the funniest, sweetest child in the world!  That little man can make me laugh when nobody else can.  He is really into Legos, Star Wars, and playing with his DS.  He is really into Baseball games and loves going to Daddy's games that he coaches for Babe Ruth.  Brayden makes friends wherever he goes and still loves Mommy, Bray date nights.  Nothing short of amazing he is.  He LOVES to kiss pretty girls hands, give compliments and chat chat chat.  He really has a thing for blondes and at school has a few crushes already this year!  Aubrey, Peyton, Audrina, and Summer.  ALL blondes except for one.  He holds their hands in car line and blushes when we ask him if he has a crush.  He has even come home with a few little love notes from the girls in his backpack!  I didn't realize this stuff would happen this quick, but he is a little lover so I should have expected that! Brayden LOVES to sing, and I cannot tell you how happy that makes me.  We frequently jam out in the car to Katy Perry or Kesha, and he dances his little heart out in the back seat.  We took a trip to Georgia to see my family in April and he LOVED that!  We got to see Uncle Scotty, Aunt Tara, Bailey and Casey, and Grandma.  He loves them all SO much and we had fun going out to eat and just playing at the house.  He is the best little guy to travel with, but absolutely despised driving through Ohio, the long dreaded state.  We cut our vacation a little short to come home for my best friends mother who passed away as we were gone.  I really wanted to make it home for the funeral, but I missed it by a few hours.  I was heartbroken.  My best friend was just grateful we at least got to see each other that night, although I think my not being there will haunt me the rest of my life.

With all of those things happening, I have had no time to blog.  This Fall I am starting college (again).  I will be attending JCC full time and still don't know what for!  I am tired of sales, executive stuff, etc etc.  I want a new major and DONT want it to be in business/marketing anymore.  Perhaps something more creative.  My love for all things creative this year really helped me recover from my short depression following my heart attack recovery.  I also got myself a gym membership, and go as often as I can so I feel good about working to keep my heart healthy.  It does get challenging with my Lupus sometimes, but I go when I can.  I have really completed many of my own goals this year, and am proud of how far I have changed in the last year.  We all have.  It is renewing to change gears, restructure, and start anew.  With that comes keeping on the blog again.  It really needs a revamp, so keep checking back as I have some exciting new things I will be posting soon!
