Our Snowbaby...12 Weeks and growing...

Brayden will be officially 12 weeks tomorrow November 28th. Its amazing how fast he has grown. He is starting to try and stand on his little "leggers", and he loves having his little "toe-zers" played with. (it's good that I am back to work...otherwise my entire vocabulary might have changed without some adult converstation!!!) We have also been learning all about animals and the sounds they make. He giggles out loud now when we sing and play, and he loves how the duck says "qwak, qwak qwak". He is an amazingly beautiful little boy that makes me smile every morning when I pick him up out of the bassinette. He smiles at the sight of Mommy and Daddy now, and he LOVES to watch winnie the pooh on tv. Grandma is coming home for Christmas, and we are so tickled and excited...she is going to be amazed at how much her Brayden Boy has grown.

Me Cook???

Anyone who knows me knows that I DONT know how to cook for the life of me. I wish I did. Well...I can cook, but I don't think people really like to eat it! We told Brayden I was going to attempt to make my very own turkey this year...and this was his response...

So...needless to say, I will not be making my own turkey this year. Oh well...the only thing we miss by going someplace else for Thanksgiving is food poisoning right? Ha ha.

Happy Thanksgiving 2007!

This year has been one with many blessings. It started out a little rough for us...well with my job, and the high risk pregnancy not fitting into their culture... the move into our new home in Orlando in February-which we all know turned out to be a total nightmare...unheard of nightmare, the move to NY, then staying with my brother and his family for three months, then trying to find work, win unemployment, and move AGAIN into a new home...all while having this high risk pregnancy! We were so completely lost and frustrated with our lack of luck at the beginning of the year...but as the saying goes..."everything happens for a reason". Turns out...I tested positive for a Lupus Anticoagulant that could have cost me Brayden had it not been detected...and my Docs in Florida never even thought to test for it. Once we arrived here and I began to see Dr. Andrews....him and my team of specialists tested for it right away..and we were able to proactively start treatment before anything bad could happen to me or the baby. Thank God for the bad, because it brought us to the good. He knows what he doing. Brayden was born a healthy happy baby, and we have that and so much more to be thankful for today. We have a wonderful family, friends, and baby dogs. My health is better now than it has ever been, and Ron and I feel so blessed and grateful for everything we have gone through and been given this year. Thank you to everyone who has supported us, been there for us, and given us encouragement to get through everything. Lots of love and hugs to you on this day!

Shannon's 30th Surprise Birthday Party!

What a huge surprise! Ron and my family threw me a 30th Surprise Birthday Party yesterday at Friendly's! Beth called at around 11:30 a.m. and asked us out to lunch for my birthday. I hurried around getting Brayden and myself ready as we were trying to make it there by 12:30. When we got there, Beth met us up front and said they had seated them out in the side room, so we walked with her toward the back and everyone jumped up and said "Surprise" while singing Happy Birthday. All of my friends and family were there, it was such a wonderful surprise! I cried! I can't believe Ron pulled this off without me having a clue! The thought never entered my mind that he would do this for me. It was very special...and made my 30th Birthday one in which I will never forget. Here are some pictures...I am officially a 30 year old! Yay!

Smiles, Smiles, Smiles

9 weeks old and smiling...

Here is a picture we took of Brayden today smiling. We were telling him he had to smile for Grandma because we were going to send her pictures. He must really miss her...because this is what we got...

Two month checkup...

Brayden had his two month checkup yesterday, and got all of the rest of his shots. He was none too happy with them...but they had to be done. He has grown to 23 inches...up from 21 at birth, and weighs now 12 pounds, 14 oz. Up from 8 12.5 at birth. He is doing great, and developmentally right where he should be. He has started smiling recently, and we are getting the biggest kick out of it...you can really start to see his personality. He just gives you sly grins, or smiles huge happy smiles when you play with him. He loves having belly time, and is lifting his head, trying to stand on his legs...they are getting so strong...and he still tries to take control of things...grabbing his bottle to hold it himself, blankets, kicking off his socks...funny boy that he is...just so much fun.
