A busy day...

This is my 6th week participating in Wordful Wednseday hosted by Angie over at Seven Clown Circus, Thank you Angie for this weekly event-I just love it!
Well we had a busy but productive day in between packing and cleaning! Brayden got his second hair cut today and was a good big boy! He did squirm more than the first cut-but all is well with his new "do". We then made a trip to Grandma's house for waffles and playtime with his cousin Ryleah, and then picked up his cousin Molly and she came to the house to help me with the moving tasks at hand-thankfully ;-)
Right now Brayden is home playing with Aunt Beth and Uncle Todd as I work. I called home and they had him giggling to the words "peanut butter" and "you stinky". They are the best-they keep him so entertained and happy. That makes me feel really good that I don't have to worry about him while I am at work.
They are also helping me pack, do laundry, take down curtains and re-arrange boxes all while watching the Bray. God love them.
Here are some pictures of Brayden at Grandma's house today playing with Ryleah...

Wordful Wednesday-Cinnamon French Toast

This is my 5th week participating in Wordful Wednseday hosted by Angie over at Seven Clown Circus, Thank you Angie for this weekly event-I just love it!
My husband makes the best Cinnamon French Toast in all the world! It reminds me of when I was little and would come in after playing in the snow for hours and my mom would give me hot chocolate with buttered down cinnamon and sugar toast~lovely!
THIS is what THAT tastes like~heaven!
This morning Ron made breakfast for us and gave Brayden this little taste of pure delight as a special treat to his normal hum~drum meals. I think the pictures actually speak for themselves as to whether Brayden LOVED these or not... {what do you think?}.

Thank you Daddy for making us breakfast today
~ We love you so much!
{Side Note: Then Mommy started to clean up the {left behind, on & under...} cinnamon out of every chubby crevice of Brayden's little body-beneath his neck, fingers, nails, ears, eyes, nose, face, hair, and even that little belly button of his~go figure~too funny!}

Wordful Wednesday

This is my 4th week participating in Wordful Wednseday hosted by Angie at Seven Clown Circus. This is too much fun-taking a photo and babbling on and on about it-what a perfect concept!
This week I have more than just one photo. I really wanted to share some of our favorite black and whites that I have taken since Brayden was born.
This photo was taken when Brayden was a mere month or so old. I just love that Brayden is holding onto Daddy's finger so tightly. I probably love it so much because I am in love with my husbands hands...they are perfect to me. Brayden's little hands are pretty darn perfect too!

Here, my boys are fast asleep, in the same position. I crawled around on the living room floor for over 15 minutes trying to get the perfect photo of them that night. I spent another 5 minutes on the floor just sitting there staring at the both of them in amazement that I could be so blessed.

Here is a simple photo of shadows-and the sunlight capturing the specs of Brayden's eyes. It makes me wonder what he was thinking about when I took this photo.

Again, Daddy's hands, Brays chubby piggies and his chunky little hand on Daddy's-it does not get much better than this...

And last...playing with the piggies and our wedding rings. Look what our love did!

Wordful Wednesday-Comparisons

(Click on the photo above to enlarge)
I know this is Wordful Wednesday, but these two photos make me quite speechless actually. I cannot believe how much he has grown. Here is Brayden on the same swing, at the same park, just a year apart-and I am astounded at the difference. Oh my! (sniffle sniffle).

Wordful Wednesday-Hometown legacy...

Okay, so I am from this awesome little place in Western New York that has produced a few famous people! Lucille Ball-Natalie Merchant & the 10,000 Maniacs-Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys...yeah we are just this little place in the cold corner of the earth bursting with talented people! (haha)

So...with that comes a neat little story. See this picture? Well...it's Brayden's crib-obviously right? The cool thing about this crib is that we scored it (free) from my brothers neighbor who is good friends with Dennis Drew of the 10,000 Maniacs Band (keyboardist). He used this crib for his children-gave it to (said neighbor), and she in turn gave it to us-how cool is that? We have 10,000 Maniac furniture in our home!!! I was so tickled about this when we received it because I was a HUGE Maniacs fan back in the day, and think it's such a neat piece of history to share with Brayden when he grows up!

Now if I could just like...find an old rocking chair that once belonged to Lucy or something....or maybe even a neat little diddy from that Carter kid-THAT would be an ultra cool post to write. I'll have to keep you all posted on that though ;-)
Have a Happy :-)

Wordful Wednesday-He Loves Carrie!

I am a little late in the evening on this post but it has been a busy day, and even busier night! This is my FIRST Wordful Wednesday post-thank you and huge shout out to Kacey over at Chronicles of a Mommy for inviting me to participate in this bloggy blogland event hosted by Angie at 7 Clown Circus.

My son Brayden loves Carrie Underwood. Seriously! Okay-so Ron and I voted VOTED voted for Carrie back during her Idol days. We loved her-we still do! So...when I was pregnant, I would listen to her CD ALL of the time. I would sing her songs over and over again in the car. LOVE HER!
When Brayden was born her new CD came out with the song "So Small" on it. I started singing it to Brayden one day-and he loved it! Every single time thereafter-he would be completely silent when this song came on, and would fall asleep by the end most times. Needless to say-we NEVER leave home without it. He could be SCREAMING-and the second this song begins to play-he is as quiet as a mouse-instantly. It soothes him...makes him feel safe, and obviously was and still is his #1 favorite song. We thought he would have long been tired of it by now-but it still works wonders.
I have listened to this song more times than I can count. I found myself one day really truly listening to the words and thinking about how special it is that THIS is his favorite song. How cool is that? I was touched that even though Brayden has no clue yet what the verses of this song mean-they speak to him!
I know there will be a day when he is going to need to hear this story, and I am going to sit with him and play him this song. I hope it will continue to "speak" to him as an adult- because these words are so true and beautiful. Everyone needs to know, as he will too I'm sure someday that:
"When you figure out love is all that matters after all-It sure makes everything else-seem so small".
